More than 60% of all management problems result from breakdowns in communication. A recent study by the Rockefeller Foundation found that 68% of customers who quit buying from their regular suppliers do so because employees fail to communicate effectively with those customers.

The Effective Business Writing workshop provides you the tools necessary to:

  • Increase the clarity and impact of documents.
  • Create clearer, more concise documents.
  • Avoid passive language.
  • Begin and end documents effectively.

 This customized writing course increases the overall professionalism of letters, memos, and reports. Participants learn strategies for clear, direct wording; positive, reader-centered wording; logical organization; and effective editing.

Participants will:

  • Receive instruction and hands-on practice.
  • Receive course reference materials.
  • Receive job aids and worksheets.
  • Understand effective communication and identify barriers that prevent it. 
  • Assess their own communication style.
  • Learn how the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) can be used to improve business writing.
  • Choose words that are appropriate for each situation.
  • Learn how to avoid common pitfalls.
